Réaltán Ní Leannáin

Originally from Belfast, Réaltán Ní Leannáin lives in Dublin. She has worked as a teacher at secondary level and later with Trinity College Dublin and Queen's University Belfast in their education colleges. She was the Writer-In-Residence with DCU in 2019. 

Her short story 'Clic' – from the collection Dílis (Cló Iar-Chonnacht, 2015) – won the first place in the Oireachtas na Gaeilge short story competition 'Comórtas Gearrscéalaíochta Uí Mháine' sa bhliain 2014, and the title story from the same collection won a prize in Comórtas Liam Mhic Uistin in 2013. Her novel, Cití na gCártaí was shortlisted in the An Post Love Leabhar Gaeilge Book of the Year Awards in 2019.

Réaltán works with Poetry Ireland providing writing workshops and with the Foras na Gaeilge writer mentoring scheme.
