Actor and author, Diarmuid de Faoite, who translated the book to English, will be visiting a number of venues throughout Ireland during the month of April and performing readings of excerpts from the book. He will be joined in some venues by the musician Nuala Ní Chanainn who will perform a selection of music inspired by the text.

Diarmuid de Faoite and Nuala Ní Chanainn provide an afternoon of entertainment in a performed bilingual reading of de Faoite’s translation of Ó Conaire’s seminal work. Recently listed in The Irish Times/Royal Irish Academy’s ‘Modern Ireland in 100 Artworks’, Diarmuid illuminates the tales with some of his own while singer and musician Nuala Ní Chanainn weaves the song and music of the period seamlessly into the mix.
