He spent a time teaching in St. Mary's College in Galway, in Coláiste Charraig an Tobair, Cashel, in Belvedere College, Dublin, in Coláiste Chonnacht in Spiddal, prior to his appointment as a lecturer in Irish in 1969 in Mary Immaculate College in Limerick.
