This is the second collection from Bab Feiritéar, the extraordinary storyteller from Dún Chaoin who passed away in 2005. The stories and lore on the two CDs (60 tracks culminating in two hours listening time) are suitable for the native speaker and the adult learner. It would be difficult to get recordings from a better speaker than Bab Feiritéar.
Edel Ní Chuireáin spoke of the importance of publications such as Coiglímis an Tine in passing on the tradition not only at home but all over the world. Peadar Ó Croimín, President, Mary Immaculate College also spoke as well as Bo Almqvist, Roibeárd Ó Cathasaigh agus Máirín Feiritéar, Bab Feiritéar’s daughter. Tomás Ó Lúing and Pádraig Ó hÓgáin enthralled the audience with their stories - both of them Oireachtas winners.
The publishers Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne are indebted to RTE Raidió na Gaeltachta for releasing some of these recordings and to Foras na Gaeilge.
