The short stories in Gonta are a multi-lingual project in Irish, English and Dutch. The author created the stories first in one of the three languages and then translated to the other two languages afterwards. Some of the original stories in Irish were published in the Irish literary magazine, Comhar, and the story 'What's a man without a brother' (the English version of another story in the collection) was shortlisted for the Fish Short Story Prize 2012. The author plans to publish a selection of the stories in English and in Dutch in the future. Of course, the collection is seasoned by another language, Bahia Portugese, the language of the characters who inhabit these stories.
